The International Space Station (ISS) is making several passes over Ireland for the next few days. There has already been some spectacular passes and the reason is that the Space Shuttle Discovery is up there with the ISS at the moment. This means that the space station fly-overs will be brighter than usual.

Friday March 4th 2011
The ISS – Discovery will rise at 07:36:13pm from the West. Max elevation will be 44° and will have a magnitude of -3.1 (very bright)
Saturday March 5th 2011
The ISS – Discovery will rise at 06:28:12pm from the West. Max elevation will be 64° and will have a magnitude of -3.7 (very bright)
Sunday March 6th 2011
The ISS – Discovery will rise at 06:52:40pm from the West. Max elevation will be 42° and will have a magnitude of -3.0 (very bright)

Was waiting for ISS last night. It passed over Littleton both times on time.
Looked like a brilliant white star travelling from west to east.

It was very bright and coming from the west, with Jupiter very close as it rises.
