Death Of Thomas McCormack, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Friday 15th March 2024, of Mr Thomas McCormack, Curraheen, Horse and Jockey, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his parents Patrick and Johanna, brothers Patrick (Big-Pat) and Eddie; Mr McCormack passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his loving family, while in the care of staff at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel and the Community Hospital of the Assumption, Thurles.

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his heartbroken family; brothers Seamus, John, Joseph and Pascal, sisters Helen and Mary, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law Peggy, Mary and Gemma, cousins, the hospital of the Assumption community, fellow resident Murty, extended relatives neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr McCormack will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Monday afternoon, March 18th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
His remains will be received into the Church of St Peter, Moycarkey, Thurles, on Tuesday morning, March 19th, at 11:00am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in St Peter’s Cemetery, Moycarkey, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Death Of Sr. Mary Britton, Formerly Two-Mile-Borris, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Wednesday March 6th 2024, of Sr. Mary Britton, Sisters of Mercy, Brisbane, Australia and formerly of Cloncleigh, Two-Mile-Borris, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

In her 103rd year of age and pre-deceased by her brothers Edward and Christy, sisters Johanna and Bridget, nephews Enda and Eamon, nieces Mary, Imelda and Josephine; Sr. Mary Britton passed away peacefully, while in the gentle care of her religious community.

Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her Sisters of Mercy community, her brothers Paddy, Billy, Sean and Pierce, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

A celebration of Sr. Mary’s life will take place at St. Vincent’s Chapel, Nudgee, Brisbane at midnight on Sunday, March 17th, (Monday, 18th March 10:00 AEST Brisbane). Interment will take place at 1.00am Irish time and can be viewed on the livestream link shown HERE.

Death Of Mary Shorley, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Friday 15th March 2024, of Mrs Mary Shorley (née Cullagh) St. Mary’s Avenue, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Robert; Mrs Shorley passed away peacefully at her place of residence, surrounded by her loving family, following a long illness most bravely borne.

Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving sons Robert, Brian, Noel, Declan and Mark, grandchildren, great -grandchildren, daughters-in-law, brothers Michael and Jim, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

The earthly remains of Mrs Shorley will repose at Dan Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Thurles, [Eircode E41 XY47] on Sunday afternoon, March 17th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, before being received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles at 8:00pm same evening.

Requiem Mass for Mrs Shorley will be celebrated on Monday morning, March 18th, at 11:00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Death Of Mick O’Connell, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Thursday 14th March 2024, of Mr Michael (Mick) O’Connell, Boherlug, Cashel Road, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his parents Breda and Sonny and his brother John; Mr O’Connell passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family while in the care of staff at Limerick University Hospital, Co. Limerick.

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his devoted wife Maura (nee Frewen), daughter Deirdre, son Michael, son-in-law Stephen, adored grandsons Chris and Lucas, brothers Eugene, Pat, Dick, Jim and Donal, his sisters Rena and Marian, brother and sisters-in-law, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Death Of Anna Ryan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Thursday 14th March 2024 of Mrs Anna Ryan (née McCarthy), The Bungalow, Fertianna, Holycross, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

In her 91st year and pre-deceased by her husband Davy, her daughter Marian, twin sister Maura, sister Kathleen and daughter-in-law Angela; Mrs Ryan passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family while in the care of staff at the Community Hospital of the Assumption, Thurles.

Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family; sons Michael, Johnny, Murt and Gerry, grandchildren Noreen, Eoin, Saoirse, Ceire, Meabh, Kate-Anna and Conor, great-grandchildren Shay, Rían Grace and Harry, daughter-in-law Maura, son-in-law Steve, nephew Brian, Gavin, Emma, Brigid, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.
