Death Of Sr. Norah Merrick, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Thursday 11th January 2024, of Sr. Norah Merrick, Presentation Convent, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Ballynulty, Cullen, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her sister, Sr. Mary of Grace, Presentation Convent, Thurles and New Zealand, her brothers Patrick and Donal, her sister-in-law Maura; Sr. Norah passed away while in the loving care of staff at Padre Pio Nursing Home, Holycross, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sister-in-law Marie, nieces Carmel, Majella, Margaret, Brenda, Mary, Noreen and Helen, nephews P.J., John, Christy, Pat and Sammy, her Presentation Community and Congregation, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Sr. Norah will repose in the Presentation Convent Chapel, Cathedral St, Monacocka, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, on tomorrow Friday afternoon from 3:30pm, concluding with prayer, at 5:30pm same afternoon.
Requiem Mass for Sr. Norah will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11:00am, in the Convent Chapel, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Death Of James Fogarty, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Tuesday 9th January 2024, of Mr James Fogarty, Lisheenatagart, Loughmore, Templemore, Co. Tipperary and formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary

Pre-deceased by his parents Tim and Margaret, brothers Michael and John, sisters Lill (Perkins), Kathleen (Carroll) and Mary-Jo, infant sister Nora, nephew Michael (Fogarty); Mr Fogarty passed away peacefully in his 96th year, while in the care of the staff of Ardeen Nursing Home, Abbey Road, Thurles.

His passing is most deeply regretted by his loving family; brothers Tim and Pat, sister Joan (Ryan, Moyne), sister-in-law Barbara (Fogarty), nephews Paul, Jerry, Eamon Jim, Tim, and Lant, nieces Margaret, Lil, Eileen, Catherine, Fiona, Mary, Margaret, Joan and Pauline, first cousin Maura (Crowe), grandnieces, grandnephews, extended relatives, good neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Fogarty will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, on Thursday afternoon, January 11th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
His funeral cortège will leave his residence on Friday morning, January 12th, before being received into the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Loughmore, Templemore, at 11:00am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Death Of Lily Pyke, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Tuesday 9th January 2024, of Mrs Elizabeth (Lily) Pyke, (née Heaphy), Elm Park, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary and formerly Coalbrook, Ballingarry (South Riding), Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mrs Pyke passed away peacefully at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel Co. Tipperary this morning, surrounded by her loving family.

Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her husband Paddy, sons Keith and Dominic, grandchildren Grayson and Braylen, sisters Margaret (Peg Ryan) and Bridget (Hayes), daughters-in-law Martina and Chloe, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Her remains will be received into the Church of St. Oliver Plunkett and Irish Martyrs’, St Oliver’s Square, Elm Park, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, on Friday morning, January 12th, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards in the Old Graveyard, Ballingarry (SR), Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Death Of Mick Long, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Saturday last, 6th January 2024 of Mr Michael (Mick) Long, Togher Road, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Gortnahoe, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his wife Kathleen, his brothers Ned and Tom, sisters Peg, Josie and Nancy, and in his 100th year; Mr Long passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, while in the care of nurses and staff at Fennor Care Facility, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed, but always remembered by his son Michael, daughter Mary (Hennessy), daughter-in-law Frances, son-in-law John, grandson Jack, sister Mary (Fitzgerald), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Death Of Donagh Noonan, Late Of Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Saturday 6th January 2024, of Mr Donagh Noonan, Ballinteer, Co. Dublin and late of Gortnahoe, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his brother-in-law Ray and parents Dinny and Nellie; Mr Noonan passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family while in the care of staff at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Elm Park, Co. Dublin.

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his best friend and wife June, loving sons Billy, Michael and Thomas, Billy’s fiancée Aisling, brother Liam, mother-in-law Annie, sisters-in-law Mally, Helen and Angie, brothers-in-law Christy and William, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

His remains will be received into the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Ballinteer Ave, Ballinteer, Dublin 16, (D16 VK27) on Tuesday morning, January 9th, to arrive for Requiem Mass at 10:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in Kilternan Cemetery Park, Ballycorus Road Kilternan Dublin 18.
