For many years here in Thurles, the youth musical theatre group, best known as ‘Phoenix Productions’ have been bringing annually to the stage, performances par excellence.
On this coming St. Patrick’s weekend 2019; in Scoil Ailbhe, for two nights only, beginning Friday March 15th and ending on Saturday March 16th, Phoenix Productions will give two performances, beginning sharp at 8.00pm on both nights.

Tickets for this show, entitled “Back to Broadway” will cost €10 for children and €12 for adults.
As the years have progressed, many of these same young Thurles performers have carried on their immense passion for music theatre and are regularly invited to join other renowned musical theatre groups and societies; household names in entertainment, from both around this country and indeed abroad, because of their undoubted talent and intimate knowledge of stage craft.
So, do come along and give them your support and encouragement, thus ensuring that such talent is continued on into the future, here in Thurles.

For many years here in Thurles town, the youth musical theatre group, better known as and a much loved ‘Phoenix Productions’, have been bringing to the stage, annually, performances par excellence.
As the years have progressed, many of these young performers have continued on in their great love of musical theatre and are regularly invited to join other well known musical theatre groups and societies both around Ireland and abroad, because of their undoubted talent and their knowledge base of professional stage craft.
To ensure and encourage that such talents are continued on by young performers into the future here in Thurles and elsewhere, this Saturday, December 22nd. 2018, the Society supporting Phoenix Productions are holding a “Mulled Wine and Mince Pie morning” (or Coffee for those driving), at the former old School House, on Slievenamon Road, Thurles, (Opposite Ely’s Centra Store & Petrol Station.), latter now home to the Societies Director / Producer Mr Gerard O’Brien.
This event will commence sharp at 10.00am in the morning, and run until 3.00pm in the afternoon, with full proceeds from this event going to support Phoenix Production’s next exciting musical extravaganza.
So please do take a well deserved break from your busy Christmas shopping and pop into the old School House for a relaxing cup of Coffee, a glass of Mulled Wine and Mince Pies.
All support as usual will be greatly appreciated.

To ensure and encourage that such talent is continued on into the future, Phoenix Productions are holding a fund raising coffee morning in the Source Library on tomorrow (Saturday November 19th), from 10.00am – 1.00pm.
So do take a well deserved break from your busy shopping and pop into Thurles Library for a relaxing cup of coffee, a piece of delicious home-made cake and of course ‘that inevitable good humoured banter’. All support will be greatly appreciated.

Phoenix Productions are this year celebrating their 15th Birthday. Founded initially in 1998 to harness the unbelievable vocal & musical talent emerging amongst the youth of Thurles, this non-profit organization, through the use of professionals in choreography & musical direction, have succeeded in staging one musical production every year since its conception.
Funded only by the sale of tickets, an Arts Council Grant latter administered by Tipperary North County Council and local sponsorship, the Phoenix Productions company will this year undertake its most tasking production yet, the tragic love story that is the 1986 musical “The Phantom of the Opera,” with music by Tipperary resident Baron Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Charles Hart. (Some lyrics influenced by Jim Steinman, Alan Jay Lerner & Richard Stilgoe.)
Just this year the rights to perform “The Phantom of the Opera” were released to non-professional groups for the very first time.
To give you just a taste of what is to come, listen to the gifted voices of Michael Ball and Sierra Boggess, as they perform possibly one of the best known and loved songs from this amazing musical, hereunder entitled “All I ask of you.” By the way, on Piano for this video performance is composer and impresario of musical theatre, himself, Baron Andrew Lloyd Webber.

This is one show for music lovers which should not to be missed, so do make arrangements to view the splendour of a Paris Opera House here in the Premier Hall, Thurles and meet face to face a Phantom, shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all. But also experience the strong passion that this Phantom holds for his beautiful protégée Christine Daaé, that despite this physical affliction, even her heart cannot resist.
So “No more talk of darkness,” folks and for at least one night, do come listen to “The music of the night,” here in Thurles, running from August 7th to August 10th 2013.
