Covid-19 Update: Mon. 19th Oct. 2020 – Zero Deaths – 1,031 New Cases

36 new killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been zero new deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,852.

As already stated, there are 1,031 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 50,993. Today sets a new record for the highest number of Covid-19 cases reported on any single day.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 36 are in Co. Tipperary (999 cases to date per RTE summary); 235 are in Dublin; 232 in Cork; 60 in Galway; 47 in Limerick; 47 in Kerry; with the remaining 374 cases located across 20 counties.

Tipperary’s incidence rate still remains lowest in Ireland at 109.1 per 100,000 population.

Today nationally, 299 Covid-19 patients are in hospital, with 34 of these in ICU’s.

The Cabinet is meeting currently to finalise a plan to move the 26 country of Ireland to Level 5 restrictions until the end of November.

There have been 820 new cases of coronavirus recorded in Northern Ireland today (7,056 in the last seven days) and sad to report 6 further death, taking the official toll to 621.

Total global cases this evening now stand at over 40 million [40,186,016] with global deaths at well over 1.1 million [1,115,521].
