Covid-19 Update: Tue. 4th Aug. 2020 – Zero New Deaths – 45 New Cases

“Keep fighting hard against Covid-19 virus”

Seven workers at Carroll Cuisine in Tullamore, Co. Offaly; latter a county bordering on north Co. Tipperary, have tested positive for Covid-19.

The food processing plant is understood to employs some 330 employees.

Meanwhile, An Tánaiste Mr Leo Varadkar has stated that the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) has advised Government to take a cautious approach to all reopening over the coming weeks .Mr Varadkar said that this advice will come as a further blow to some of the sectors that can’t be reopened, but we can’t risk schools not reopening.

This evening, the Department of Health has confirmed that there have been zero new deaths caused by this pandemic, leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,763.

However, there were 45 new additional cases reported to the Department of Health, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, now at 26,253.
