Death Of Joe O’Rourke, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness we learned of the death yesterday, Tuesday 7th July 2020, of Mr Joe (P.J.) O’Rourke, Glencar, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly Crusheen, Co. Clare.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Sally; Mr O’Rourke passed away suddenly, while in the care of staff at University Hospital Waterford.

His passing is most deeply regretted by his loving family; son Noel; daughter Deirdre; adored grandchildren Caoilfhionn, Mahon and Tiernan; daughter-in-law Olivia; brothers John and Gerard; sister Mary (O’Mahony); sisters-in-law Maureen, Mary and Moll; brother-in-law Bill; nephews; nieces; former colleagues in An Garda Síochána and ESB; extended relatives; neighbours and many friends.

Requiescat in Pace.

Funeral Arrangements.

Reposing in Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Friday 10th July. from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, for family and friends; with strict adherence to social distancing.
Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday July 11th, in the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles at 11:00am, followed by interment. immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles.
Due to Government and HSE restrictions, numbers are limited to 50 family and friends within the Church.

    Very sad to hear that you have lost your dad, so soon after losing your mum. I knew your dad from coming into reading g our meter at work, I spoke to him shortly after he returned to work after losing Sally, he was so broken hearted but spoke so lovingly about his lovely grandchildren & how they kept him going. Joe, now your are reunited with Sally, no more is your heartache, Rest in Peace!
