Covid-19 Update: Sat. 13th June 2020 – 5 Death – 46 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Thursday, June 10th, remains at 541, with 0 new cases identified over the previous 24-hour period of that date. Tipperary has also recorded fewer than 5 new cases for the fourth week in a row.

This evening, the Department of Health has confirmed that a further 5 persons have sadly passed away as a result of the virus here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic currently at 1,705.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 46 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,295.

Of today’s new cases 22 actually relate to samples that were taken on Monday last when 12 were confirmed and Tuesday last when 10 cases were confirmed, which would normally have been reported on Thursday and Friday, but are being reported today, due to technical reasons as part of normal laboratory practice at the National Virus Reference Laboratory.

Latest figures from the HSE show that as of last night, there were 79 patients all with confirmed Covid-19 in our hospitals. This figure is reduced from 123 such cases this time last week. There were 27 virus affected patients in intensive care; ten fewer than last week.

Dublin has the highest number of cases at 12,179 (48% of all cases) followed by Cork with 1,533 cases (6%) and then Kildare with 1,426 cases (6%).
