Covid-19 Update: Mon. 25th May 2020 – 0 Deaths – 59 New Cases

The World Health Organization’s Special Envoy on Covid-19, Dr David Nabarro, has stated that the two-metre distance guidance keeps people safe 99% of the time. Dr Nabarro said that 70% of all droplets from a person’s cough will travel within one metre, and very few of them travel further than two metres.

So we can immediately cancel the suggestion by Labour Party leader, Tipperary’s Mr Alan Kelly (AK-47), yesterday who laughingly called for an audit of the impact on social distancing and its influence on increasing the current capacity of the health service. The total number of Covid-19 virus cases that have been confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Saturday, May 23rd last, remains at 528, with an increase of 0 recorded new case, within a 24-hour period.

The Department of Health has confirmed this evening that, for the first time since mid-March, no person has died from the virus here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic currently at 1,606.

This evening, it was also been confirmed that an additional 59 new cases of coronavirus have been identified, bringing the total since conception to 24,698.
