Covid-19 Update: Sat. 16th May 2020 – 15 Deaths – 92 New Cases

No new cases of the Covid-19 virus has been confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Wednesday, May 13th last, with the total number of cases identified, reduced by 8, (Same 8 cases we understand have been reassigned to another county) from 524 to 516, up to and including that date.

The Department of Health has confirmed, this evening, that a further 15 people have tragically died from the Covid-19 virus, here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures bring the total number of deaths from this pandemic, sadly to 1,533.

This evening, Health Chiefs have also confirmed that an additional 92 cases of coronavirus have been identified nationally, bringing the total since conception to 24,048.

Today is the first time since mid March that the number of confirmed cases has fallen below the figure of 100.

Yesterday, An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar warned that people should use face coverings when using busy public transport or in an enclosed indoor public area, as part of the Phase One easing of Covid-19 restrictions.

If for medical or work reasons you are wondering where to avoid over the coming weeks, then Co. Dublin has the highest number of cases at 11,657 (49% of all cases); followed by Co. Kildare with 1,357 cases (6%), and Co. Cork with 1,346 cases (6%).
