Nationally, 14 New Covid-19 Deaths & 727 New Cases

14 New Covid-19 Deaths and 727 New Cases confirmed by the Department of Health and a testing laboratory in Germany.

This Easter Sunday night, we learn that the number of deaths associated with Covid-19 virus, has increased by 14, bringing the total number of deaths to 334 from yesterdays toll of 320 deceased persons, here in the Republic of Ireland.

The total number of actual Covid-19 cases has increased overnight from 8,928, to 9,655; with 727 further cases confirmed by the Department of Health and a testing laboratory in Germany. In total 1,777 cases or 21%, have been hospitalised of which 261 cases have been admitted to intensive care units (ICU’s).

Here in Co. Tipperary, a further 9 new cases have been identified over the past 24 hours, bringing our overall total caseload to 175. This figure comes as no surprise, as some Tipperary residents are failing to isolate, thus waning in their basic understanding of the seriousness of our current pandemic situation. This is further confirmed by the fact that over 65% of the virus contracted, is by community transmission.
