The Rite of Marriage ceremony took place in the beautiful, recently restored, Cathedral of The Assumption, Thurles with the ceremony conducted by close family friends; Rev Fr. Joseph (Joe) Walsh (P.P. Thurles); assisted by Monsignor Dr. Maurice Dooley AP, (Loughmore, Co. Tipperary).

The bride, escorted down the aisle by her father, looked stunningly beautiful in an ivory ‘Essense of Australia’ gown displaying a romantic mixture of luxurious crepe; delicate lace; with plunging neck line, highlighting the bodice. The groom, Garry, and his grooms-men; Mr Allan Butler (Best Man), Mr Ciarán Moore & Mr Darran Carew, all looked dashing in their petrol blue ‘Benetti’ suits, while bridesmaids; Miss Alison Brolan (Chief Bridesmaid), Miss Laura Stakelum & Miss Emma Butler further added to the splendour of the occasion in their blush pink evening gowns.

The couple proclaimed their love for each other in front of a large gathering of family members and close friends, with a video recording of the event undertaken by Thurles videographers ‘Star Systems’.  Photography for the event was undertaken by leading wedding photographer Mr Colin Kenny.

A Rolls Royce Silver Cloud owned and driven by Chauffeur Mr Michael Hogan was the couples choice for this most special wedding day event.

Music and vocals were performed by the ever popular “Cullinane Family”, supported and complimented by musician Miss Sinead Rodger with additional vocals by Miss Katie Lawless & Mr Shane Willoughby. Passages from scripture were read by Mr Ronan Spain & Miss Meghan Butler, while Prayers of the Faithful were read by Miss Katie Lawless, Miss Theresa Buckley, Miss Aoife Moore & Mr Liam Fleming.

Offertory gifts of Bread and Wine were presented by Mrs Francis Butler (Mother of the Groom) & Mrs Karen Spain (Sister of the Bride), while Mr Shane Willoughby (Brother of the Bride) read the Communion Reflection.

Following their marriage ceremony, the new Mr and Mrs Butler retired to the ever popular luxury 4 star Newpark Hotel, situated at Castlecomer Road, Newpark Lower, Co. Kilkenny. Here guests were immediately entertained to light refreshments on their arrival.

Following family photographs in the grounds of Lisheen Castle and in the hotels private garden, the newly married couple joined their guests in the venue’s main banquet hall for dinner, latter which was immediately followed by dancing late into the evening, with music provided by “The Suite“.

The couple have chosen to honeymoon on the Spanish island of Lanzarote, one of the Canary islands off the coast of West Africa.

To Rachel & Garry go our best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous life together and our thanks to you both for the most enjoyable of wedding day celebrations.
