Thurles Family Wish To Convey Their Gratitude

Late Sarah (Sally) Willoughby.  [R.I.P.]

On behalf of the Willoughby family; and the sisters of the late deceased Mrs Sarah (Sally) Willoughby; namely Anne (Lennon) and Mary (Nolan), together with the extended Lennon and Nolan families; we all would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the massive support and sympathy so freely proffered by so many, through personal contact and through expressions via social media, during this most difficult of times.

In particular we all would like to thank Fr. Joe Walsh C.C., Thurles Cathedral, not least because of his unwavering support, coupled with enormous experience and goodwill, who made this very difficult time, that little less challenging.  To Monsignor Dr. Morris Dooley, (Loughmore) and the other numerous clergy in attendance from the local parish and county, go our most sincere gratitude for their prayers and attendance at services held on Saturday and Sunday.

We would like to thank Thurles Cathedral Choir who sang so harmoniously for Sally’s Mass on Sunday morning, and our dear friends Eddie and Anne Marie (Dwan), who provided such wonderful instrumental music, during the previous evening. We also thank our dearest friends, the Cullinane family, for their vocals on Sunday morning; latter family in particular who for many years have ‘raised us up’, continuously through their continued kindness and unconditional friendship.

To other numerous individuals who made contributions to Sunday’s funeral Mass; e.g. readers, singers, casket bearers and graveyard personnel etc, their involvement is so greatly appreciated.

A very special word of thank must also go to Mr Pat Ely, (Ely’s Centra Supermarket, Kickham Street & The Mall, Thurles), to his professional staff and the extended Ely family; for their unbelievable support at this time.

To Ryan’s Funeral Undertakers, with specific reference to Dan, David and Mary Ryan and to Ms Lorraine Tynan; we again say “thank you”.  Your organization, insight and diligence has been of great comfort; throughout this most traumatic of times.

We wish to thank the core ICU medical care team in Limerick hospital, who administered to the late Sally Willoughby. These individuals remained so patient and courteous, not only to a dying woman, but to anyone who visited her or spent time with her, during her final last hours on this earth. To the doctors, the specialists, the paramedics, the nurses, the pastoral team and anyone who worked with or interacted with the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Limerick; from us go a thousand thanks.

To the professional video team; (Pat Corbett and Brian Corbett), who remained so discrete, to the point of invisibility, in their efforts to capture film footage of this sad event for family members unable to travel from abroad; we thank you both.

We would like to thank everyone from within and outside our Thurles community, including those who travelled long distances, from abroad and from here on the island of Ireland, to join and support us on Friday, Saturday and Sunday last; each taking that moment to meet, greet, talk and more importantly to listen.

Finally, we wish to thank our many good neighbours, friends, work colleagues and extended family members, for their love and goodwill.
