Garda Youth Award Application Forms for 2016 are now available from Tipperary divisional Garda Stations in Nenagh, Thurles, Cahir, Clonmel and Tipperary town.

This award will be open to nominees strictly aged between 13 years and 19 years, to acknowledge their personal contribution to their own local community.

Tipperary Gardaí will present the awards at a ceremony, on a yet to be determined date next April, in the Garda Training College in Templemore, Co Tipperary.

A judging panel, which will consist of former Tipperary hurler Brendan Cummins (Ardfinnan), Thurles born Una (Healy) Foden (of ‘The Saturday’s’ & TV franchise ‘The Voice’ fame) and Circuit Court judge Mr Gerard O’Brien, will together decide the overall winner.

Tipperary Garda Division’s Chief Superintendent Mrs Catherine Keogh has stated that this will be one of a number of opportunity to foster stronger relationships between the Gardaí and young people in Tipperary.

Those wishing to be nominated for this award should take note that the closing date for application forms is March 4th next.
