The dual GAA star represented the Premier County (Tipperary) in both hurling and football and was Captain of the Tipperary Intermediate hurling team which won the All-Ireland in 2012.
The Loughmore-Castleiney club man was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2013 and had been battling the condition ever since. He had recently travelled to Spain to receive a new form of cancer treatment.
Mr Connolly passed away peacefully at his home, most deeply regretted by his heartbroken parents Jim and Maureen, brothers James and Gerard, sisters Niamh and Fiona, niece Aibhe, grandmother Mary Teresa, sister-in-law Elaine, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
The earthly remains of Mr Connolly will repose at his residence today, Saturday (19th September, 2015), from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, before arriving at Loughmore Church on Sunday morning, (20th September, 2015) for Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Burial will take place after Mass in the adjoining cemetery.
