Driving testers have threatened to strike from 2.00pm next Wednesday in relation to a row over the hiring of new contractors by the Irish Road Safety Authority (RSA).
The IMPACT Trade union has stated that the RSA move is in direct contravention of an earlier Labour Court ruling, latter which recommended the recruitment of a reserve body of testers, to avoid a backlog in test applications and have confirmed all driving testers will down tools with effect from April 2nd.
The RSA have state that it is extremely disappointed with the threatened action taken by IMPACT and insist it was acting fully in accordance with the Labour Court.
The Thurles Driving Test Centre is situated at Government Offices, Stradavoher, Thurles, Telephone: 1890406040. This office has a waiting time averaging some 11 weeks and has a learner driver pass rate of 49.11%.
