A Walsh“Hair of ‘red,’ eyes of blue, Prettiest girl I ever knew
Skin as white as precious pearl,
She was my Tipperary girl.”

Singer Daniel O’Donnell must now be forced to change the lyrics of his song, “Tipperary Girl.”  Reason being, and this will come as no surprise to many, that the red haired Tipperary beauty Miss Aoife Walsh has now been crowned Miss Ireland 2013.

Aoife, who hails from Giantsgrave, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, succeeds Belfast’s Rebecca Maguire, last years winner.

The 23 year old Miss Walsh, who recently graduated as a secondary school teacher from Trinity College in Dublin, easily beat off 23 other contestants, to claim the much coveted beauty prize in Dublin last night.

Last night’s ceremony included judges Virginia Macari of Dublin Wives & Podge & Rodge fame, the former successful Miss World Olivia Treacy and former Miss Ireland Sarah Morrissey.

Miss Ireland 2013 will now go on to attend the 63rd edition of the Miss World pageant.

All Tipperary will have their fingers crossed for Aoife at this years Miss World pageant, which will be held on September 28th, 2013, at the 10,120 seat capacity Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), latter a commercial conference hall in the residential area of Sentul City, Bogor, West Java, Indonesia.

Every success Aoife from all in Co Tipperary, we will be watching with immense pride.
