Co Tipperary Benefit From Childcare Grant Funding

Frances Fitzgerald, TD and Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, on Thursday last announced that €2.75 million in capital grant funding had been allocated to 671 grantees, subject to contract, from childcare settings throughout Ireland.

Frances Fitzgerald has now announced funding of €62,757 for North Tipperary and €31,566 for South Tipperary for childcare services in the county. Some of the organisations to benefit include Baile Beag Montessori PreSchool (Littleton), Tumbletotos Playschool (Clonmel), St Sheelan’s Childcare Centre (Templemore), Little Tots Academy (Newport) and First Steps Montessori (Borrisoleigh).

This programme is a national programme administered by Pobal on behalf of the Department of Children and Youth Affairs and this year’s funding scheme, covered four strands:-
(1) Small grants to purchase equipment or carry out small maintained work, assessed by the local childcare committees.
(2) Grants to improve accessibility of services for children with disabilities.
(3) Grants to provide natural outdoor spaces that promote active outdoor play.
(4) Grants towards critical works to ensure that buildings are ‘Fit for Purpose,’ under the childcare regulations (Latter open to community/not for profit services,).
