We are all familiar with the English idiom “Many hands make light work,” meaning large tasks become small when divided among several people.
Dunnes Stores here in Thurles Shopping Centre have kindly approved 3 days of ‘bag packing for charity,’ in their store next week, on the 5th, 6th and 7th of April. Two well known Thurles ladies, Tammy Byrne and Brenda O’ Meara, who, with your help, raised over €6,000 in 2011 for their very worthy cause “Barnardos,” are hoping, again with your help, to raise even more money for this organisation in 2012.
These ladies hope that some of you, our readers, can spare just one hour or even two of your valuable time, to help them with this bag packing fundraiser.
Keep in mind that Barnardos here in Ireland offers a variety of specialised services to provide support to children, parents and families, ranging from literacy support to assistance during difficult times such as coping with the death of a loved one, to representing children in court. Their work is child-focused. They respond to the individual needs of each child and family, and aim to provide practical and professional supports to bring hope into situations where hope is sometimes lost.
