Wedding Of Marie Cowan And Michael Conneely Borrisoleigh

The wedding took place yesterday of Miss Marie Cowan, daughter of Mrs Breed Cowan and the late Mr Michael Cowan, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, to Mr Michael Conneely, son of Mr Joe and Mrs Breed Conneely, Bohoona, Spiddal, Co.Galway.

The ceremony took place in the local parish church of The Sacred Heart, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, Co.Tipperary and was presided over by local parish priest Rev. Fr. Liam Everard, ably assisted by Rev. Fr. Jimmy O’Donnell, both  friends of  the couple.

Meet the new Mr and Mrs Conneely

Escorted down the aisle by her brother Aidan, the Bride looked stunning in a white, long trained, back laced, bridal evening gown with halter-neck bodice, subtly embroidered and decorated with hand stitched beading.  Equally beautiful were the Bridesmaids, Maid Of Honour Margaret Cowan, Joanne Cowan, Sarah Cowan and Gina O’Donoghue, all sisters of the bride, who wore beautiful oasis coloured, backless, tie back, full-length, timeless evening gowns, thus adding greatly to the occasion.

The Groom Michael and Groom’s Men, Jason (Bestman), Peter, Joey and Tommy, all looked dashing in their dark grey evening suits elegantly highlighted by white wing collared shirts and matching white silk cravats

The couple exchanged their vows in front of a very large gathering of family and close friends, while music and song for the ceremony was performed by celebrated and talented local musicians and vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the new Mr and Mrs Conneely retired to the popular and luxurious wedding venue, the Great National Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh, Co Tipperary, where over 250 guests enjoyed a champagne and punch reception.

Following family photographs in the wonderful gardens adjoining their chosen venue, the newly married couple joined their guests in the banqueting suite at the Abbey Court for a lavish feast, which was followed by live music and dancing very late into the evening.

The couple have chosen a tour of the Pacific Islands as their favoured honeymoon destination.

From all their family and many friends in Co.Tipperary and Co. Galway, go best wishes to them both for a happy, healthy and prosperous life together.
