A second half fade-out by Galway saw Tipperary win at Semple Stadium Thurles, in the National Hurling League Division One game yesterday.

The Tribesmen appeared to have the advantage in the early part of the match, but managed just a single point into the wind in the second half.

Earlier, Galway boss, manager John McIntyre, expressed concerns at his team’s tendency to lose focus and today his concerns were very evident.

While Galway, leading  0-13 to 1-5 at the break,  looked to be the likely winners, the efforts of Lar Corbett, Seamus Callinan and Eoin Kelly, in the second half, were to change the final outcome, all three doing serious damage for the home side to turn the game in Tipperary’s favour.

Galway’s Ger Farragher, targeted four of the Tribesmen’s first-half points.

A wind assisted second half saw Tipp battling back to achieve a convincing final score of  2-17 to 0-14.
